Children's Bereavement Care Packages (ages 2-17 years)
Care Packages are available to families who have children aged 2-17 years and have experienced the death of a loved one. The packages attempt to normalize what the child may be feeling, thinking, or doing since the death of someone special through grief educational items. Other items in the box are to remind the child to continue to be a kid and play, as this is what children do best! The following items can be found in most of the boxes depending on the age of the child... a small stuffed toy, crayons/ markers, journals, pens, stickers, sidewalk chalk, balloons, picture frames/albums, and age appropriate books and handouts related to a child's journey through grief. The exterior of the box can be decorated by the child and then used as a memory box where keepsakes and reminders of their loved who died can be kept.
