Powerful Tools for Caregivers
If you regularly take time to help a loved one with errands, personal care, living arrangements, financial and legal concerns or other activities, you are a caregiver. And frankly, caregiving can be stressful - physically, emotionally and financially. Powerful Tools for Caregiversis an educational program designed to provide you - the caregiver - with the tools needed to take care of yourself. You will learn how to:
- Reduce stress
- Improve self-confidence
- Better communicate your feelings
- Balance your life
- Increase ability to make tough decisions
- Learn to locate helpful resources
Classes consist of six, 90 minute sessions held once a week. Two trained and experienced class leaders conduct each session. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the "tools" you choose and put them into action in your life.
Research evaluation has shown that Powerful Tools for Caregiversis highly effective in enabling caregivers to better care for their physical and emotional health and improving their confidence in the caregiving role. Class size is limited and registration is required. Class participation includes receiving a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook. There is no cost for this class.
